Just like I promised here is a little Vintage shopping
guide:
Bargain Galore is a charity store that’s situated on 303 Sea
Point Main Road. They have second hand dresses, pants, skirts and tops for
ladies. They also have second hand books and tons of little nick knacks. The
prices range from R30 to R300.
Second Time around has been around for the longest out of
all the vintage stores but it is all new and improved. They have the biggest
variety of second hand clothing. Second time around is more on trend than the
other thrift stores within Cape Town.
The new renovation has given the store a more professional feel.
You can find them on 196 Long Street Cape Town.
Beverly’s Closet is situated in Oxford Street in
Durbanville. This shop has also been around for a very long time. They have a
lot of luxury items. They have a complete section at the back with Fur and
trench coats. This is a store filled with different fashion related items.
Babette is situated in 44 Church Street. This is not a
second hand clothing store but second hand clothing that has been reworked. The
clothes have all been reconstructed to suit the fashion needs of an individual
of this day and age.
Afraid of Mice in Shop 86 Long Street is a store filled with “The clothes you wish your
mother had kept for you.” They stock clothing from high end designers such as Chanel,
Oscar De La Renta, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren and Stella McCartney. This store
is a bit more expensive than the previous stores mentioned but they stock
classic pieces.
Enjoy
